About the presenter, Thomas Martin,
Ph.D.
Thomas Martin, Ph.D., is currently the Holy Family University's Chair of the
MIS Department, responsible for undergraduate and graduate programs in
Information Systems. Prior to joining the University's facility, he was Chief
Executive Officer and Division President of five high-technology companies,
ranging from multi-billion dollar companies to startups and turnarounds. Martin
founded and built the first successful speech recognition company in the U.S. He
has over 50 papers published and 19 patents awarded. He was elected a member of
the Computer Industry Hall of Fame in 1983, and also received an award from
President Ronald Reagan "for pioneering the commercial applications of speech
recognition."
